WE THINK YOU’RE GONNA LIKE IT HERE
Fri Nov 14, 7:30 pm, Simsbury High School Auditorium, 34 Farms Village Rd., Simsbury.
The loveable red head who reminds us that “The Sun Will Come Out Tomorrow” is here to brighten the stage in the Theatre Guild of Simsbury’s production of the classic, Annie. The cast of more than 50 local actors features 25 area children (including two Annies chosen from a pool of more than 100 that auditioned) singing their hearts out about Annie’s life in the orphanage and her move to the home of Daddy Warbucks (and all of the drama in between.) A full orchestra of area musicians accompanies in favorites like “Maybe” and “It’s A Hard Nock Life.” $15-$20. 658-0666, theatreguildsimsbury.org

SCROOGE’S BETTER? HALF
Fri Nov 14, 8pm, Hole in the Wall Theater, 116 Main St., New Britain.
You’ve likely only heard the story from Ebenezer’s side, but have you ever thought about Jacob Marley’s perspective on the lessons and hauntings of A Christmas Carol? Jacob Marley’s Christmas Carol, Tom Mula’s funny, irreverent spin on the holiday classic looks at Marley’s plight to redemption and his bouts with Scrooge along the way. Performances through Dec. 13. $20 suggested donation. 229-3049, hitw.org
