Calling Labor and Community Supporters:
RALLY!
FOR 1199 SPECTRUM STRIKERS
SATURDAY, APRIL 24
11:00 AM TO 12:00 NOON
PARK PLACE HEALTH CENTER
5 Greenwood Street, Hartford
(off Park St. Parking on Amity, Madison, Grace, and nearby streets)
On the 10th day of the strike, join nursing home workers who are fighting unfair labor practices and the threat of permanent replacements. The Spectrum Corporation has intimidated, suspended and fired dozens of workers at four nursing homes over the past year while workers have been trying to negotiate a fair contract.
Show your support! Contact Steve Thornton for more information, 860-251-6013

Let’s hope that folks consider when parking that they may be taking the people who live in the neighboorhoods parking spaces on the street. Perhaps people could park behind the Parkville School on New Park, or down at Stop and Shops lot. Hey the Save-a-lot parking lot is right down the hill, nice walk up to Greenwood, and you will even get to see Parkville up close.
Gramma who is going to little Edna’s birthday party on Amity, Madison, or any other street should not have to walk a mile. This is always important to remember when anyone is coming into the neighboorhoods, the people who live there. Please be considerate and perhpas they will join in your causes.
Writing from the picket line… 250 community and labor supporters jammed Greenwood Street in front of Park Place Health Center this morning. 1199 Strikers spoke as did former and current residents of the home, all with the same message to Spectrum corporation: stop breaking the law, quit stalling, settle a fair contract now! You can help by sending Spectrum the same message at 860-871-5454. Stay in touch with the 1199 strike at seie1199ne.org
