Thanks Richard for the comments and most definitely we need to keep the flame of queer radicalism alive, most especially in these strange days of a so-called LGBT equality movement. Your motto to live by is very admirable and beautiful. And most definitely I recall it as point 5 of the Radical Manifesto: The Homophile Movement must be Radicalized! (August 28, 1969).

One is forced to wonder where those many radical queer voices and spaces have gone. Though with amazing queer folks like yourself Richard we will work hard to keep those flames alive and burning! As an aside, whenever I read Harry Hay's words and beliefs I always think fondly of you, your passions and your intellect. Thanks for the link and most definitely will check it out! Miss ya luv!

Thank you so much for this. It gladdens me to read another thinker who is thinking. Sister you are not alone! Do you remember this statement, "We regard established heterosexual standards of morality as immoral and refuse to condone them by demanding an equality which is merely the common yoke of represion." That is my motto I try hard to live by.

Jeri, check out the essay on www.emmafurbird.wordpress.com, The "Flag Flies Again," see what you think.
