Another edition of the Monday Matinee Series, RAW features a screening of: “Tous Les Matins du Monde,” a film that follows the life of gifted viola da gamba player Monsieur de Sainte Colombe, a Baroque composer known for the mournful beauty of his music which poured out as a result of his wife’s untimely death. He moves into a small house in his garden to keep himself and his two young daughters safe from the outside world. But their solitude is broken when a young musician comes calling in search of a lesson. Winner of seven French Cesar film awards, the film illuminates an unlikely topic. FIREWORKS IN NOVEMBER?
Sat Nov 29, 4:30-8pm, Hopmeadow Street, Simsbury. A good old-fashioned winter carnival … with a fire truck parade! How much cooler can you get? Get to Simsbury for the annual “Simsbury Celebrates” winter gathering. The street shuts down for more than 31 indoor and outdoor performances and activities, including snowboarding demonstrations, carolers and ice sculptors. The evening culminates with a parade of fire trucks from across the region decked out in holiday light splendor, then they light up the sky with a fantastic off-season fireworks display.
